Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ENSVision is an independent educational portal about the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), operated on the ensvision.com domain. We are the data controller for any personal data processed through this website.

2. Data we process

This site is informational. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or payment details through the promoted-names pages.

We process two limited categories of data:

• Analytics data - only if you consent. This includes your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, and approximate location. It is collected through Google Analytics 4 (see section 4).
• Server logs - our hosting provider records technical logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These are processed on the basis of legitimate interest.

3. Cookies and local storage

We keep cookie use to a minimum. Our analytics script only loads after you choose to accept it.

• Consent preference - stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie), under the key "dotv_consent". This remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics. It expires only when you clear your browser storage.
• Google Analytics cookies - only set if you accept. Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies including _ga (up to 2 years), _gid (24 hours), and _gat (1 minute).

If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics script is loaded.

4. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage and improve the site. Google Analytics is provided by Google LLC (United States). Google processes the data on our behalf and may use it according to its own terms. Data is transferred outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards (Google's EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

You can withdraw consent at any time by opening "Cookie settings" in the footer and choosing "Decline", or by clearing your browser storage.

5. Legal basis

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for analytics cookies and scripts.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for security-related server logs.

6. Retention

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings (up to 26 months for aggregated reports). Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Third-party links

Promoted names link to the Grails marketplace (grails.app) and to blockchain explorers for owner verification. Clicking these links takes you to third-party sites that have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their processing.
